Land Rover updated its Defender lineup with New Engine and Interior Upgrades Globally.

The three-row version now offers increased comfort, replacing the middle bench with captain chairs. The new engines, which include a diesel and a plug-in hybrid, promise improved performance and efficiency.

This refresh comes four years after the introduction of the L663-generation Defender. While not a complete facelift, this update brings significant mechanical and cosmetic enhancements, along with a reorganization of trim levels.

The D300 diesel engine has been swapped with the more powerful D350 from the Range Rover, boosting power and torque to 350 bhp and 700 Nm. The P400 Ingenium straight-six petrol engine has been replaced with a 425hp version of JLR’s supercharged 5.0-litre V8.

The plug-in hybrid Defender now features the P300e setup from the Evoque and Discovery Sport PHEVs, providing a total output of 310hp. These modifications are aimed at ensuring compliance with Euro 6e emissions standards. One notable update is the new Captain Chairs pack for the three-row Defender 130, offering front-row comfort to passengers in the second row. The captain chairs come with heating, ventilation, and cupholders.

This feature is available on specific models and can be added as part of a new Signature Interior pack, which includes premium features like adjustable front seats, heated third-row seats, leather upholstery, and unique trim colors. The 110 model also introduces a 'Sedona' edition with distinctive red paintwork, a black trim pack, and an optional bonnet decal showcasing Sedona, Arizona's rocky terrain.
