Exploring the Power of MediaTek Dimensity in Gaming Performance

MediaTek recently released the Dimensity 8250 SoC, which utilizes TSMC's 4nm fabrication technology. This new processor boasts a fully integrated 5G modem, AI processing support, and enhanced image processing capabilities. The Dimensity 8250 is equipped with four Cortex-A78 cores, four Cortex-A55 cores, and a Mali-G610 MC6 GPU.

Notably, this launch followed shortly after the introduction of the flagship MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ chipset. According to the company's website, the Dimensity 8250 is an octa-core chip featuring a 3.1GHz Arm Cortex-A78 core, three Arm Cortex-A78 cores with speeds up to 3.0GHz, and four Arm Cortex-A55 cores reaching a maximum speed of 2.0GHz.

It also includes an Arm Mali-G610 MC6 GPU and supports quad-channel LPDDR5 6,400Mbps RAM and UFS 3.1 storage.

The chipset offers enhanced camera capabilities, supporting primary sensors up to 320 megapixels and enabling a triple rear camera setup. Additionally, it leverages AI for noise reduction, 2X lossless zoom, and video recording in up to 4K resolution at 60fps. The processor also supports 1080p resolution at 60fps with EIS. In terms of AI functionality, the Dimensity 8250 can handle dedicated AI tasks and fusion processing, boasting impressive benchmark performance.

It meets the power demands of smartphone brands in various scenarios, including short bursts, thermal constraints, and power-sensitive situations.

Furthermore, the Dimensity 8250 SoC supports displays with up to 120Hz WQHD+ or 180Hz full-HD+ and HDR10+ video processing. For connectivity, it features a fully integrated 5G modem supporting SA, NSA, and 3CC sub-6GHz networks, as well as tri-band Wi-Fi 6E with speeds up to 4.7Gbps and Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity.
